CABOOLTURE BRIBIE ISLAND ROAD TO STEVE IRWIN WAY
The significant construction for the Bruce Highway Upgrade — Caboolture-Bribie Island Road to Steve Irwin Way project was finalized in April 2024. This initiative expanded an 11km segment of the Bruce Highway from 4 to 6 lanes between Caboolture-Bribie Island Road and Steve Irwin Way (Exit 163). Additionally, it involved enhancing creek crossings to bolster flood resilience at Lagoon, King Johns, Six Mile, unnamed, and Beerburrum Creeks.
The project to upgrade the Bruce Highway from Caboolture-Bribie Island Road to Steve Irwin Way (Exit 163) was recognized as one of three key initiatives during the planning phase for future enhancements to the Bruce Highway, spanning from Pine River to Caloundra Road.
The enhancement was implemented as a component of the Bruce Highway Upgrade initiative aimed at enhancing safety, alleviating congestion, and accommodating future traffic increases.
